Man Fashion 5 brands guys should be wearing right now

There is a very fine line when it comes to talking to a man about man fashion. If crossed, it produces said man’s face going blank, jaw slack and eyes glazing over.

If not, said man can be coerced into realising it is something that even if on the most basic level, he does actually care about. We will keep this brief. Guys, here are 5 man fashion brands you should be wearing right now.

Scotch & Soda

Scotch & soda don’t just have one hell of a cool name, they do actually have excellent man fashion. It is trendy but it isn’t following the trends, it is making them and has been since the 80’s. That’s right, the Dutch brand has been making man fashion for 30 years and is still going strong.

In fact, it’s more popular than ever. These are clothes guys want to wear. They look good, they feel good and the stores don’t make you feel like you are shopping, they have an atmosphere akin to that of a cool bar or your friend’s warehouse apartment.

The maturity of the brand is clear in its confident style. They manage to combine the modern and vintage looks so seamlessly it becomes a style all of their own. Make it yours too.

Brixton is forever. And this has nothing to do with loyalty. This brand is all about high quality, timeless man fashion meaning you will actually have their stuff forever, unless they get stolen which is highly likely due to their coolness. Say goodbye to having to shop more than once a year guys, you can definitely stretch it to 3 with Brixton.

Clean lines, masculine colours. You’ll find no pink shirts here guys, no matter what the season, Brixton aren’t looking to put a triangle in a square. They know men and what they like and boy do they do menswear well. Jackets, jeans, tees and what they are best known for; the finest head wear  in the world of man fashion.

Iron & Resin

This Californian brand of man fashion has a style influenced by everything men like to do outdoors; motorbikes, surfing, road tripping, camping. Luckily for you, they pull this off without making you look like you just walked out of a L.L. Bean catalogue or are about to zip your pants off into shorts.

The clothes have just enough ‘hardcore’ in them to  give them (and therefore you) an edgy look, but not so much that you will be mistaken from one of the redneck bikies they love to feature on their blog.

If you are feeling a little too close to that line, grab a tub of UpperCut pomade, the only product that exists in their ‘grooming’ section. You’ll be looking slick in no time and still have man fashion all over you.

Kiel James Patrick

For those of you unfamiliar with the term ‘preppy’, this brand will sort that out quick smart. If Kiel James Patrick had been around when Lisa Birnbach wrote ‘The Official Preppy Handbook’ (yes this exists), Kiel James Patrick would have been listed as the ultimate preppy man fashion.

The brand hails from Long Island, upstate New York and they are making no effort to hide it. KJP takes the essence of that all-American ‘I went to private school, I have a yacht, I holiday in the Hamptons, I ski in Aspen’ look, sews it into shirt, weaves it into ties and works it in leather belts so you can own a little for yourself.

Their images are over-styled to the max. One piece, a striped shirt, a leather belt with anchor detail or wristband might be just enough prep for the average dude’s wardrobe, even if only you have some man fashion to wear out on your girlfriend’s parent’s yacht.

Tom Ford

Ok so Tom Ford is pricey. You know why? Because it is good. Really, really good. And believe it or not, this mean when you are wearing it, you will look really, really good. Other than covering your man parts, this is the ultimate goal when it comes to man fashion.

Every man needs a suit in his wardrobe. This is not an arguable topic, this is a fact. You might as well look like a million dollars while you feel restrained and über fashionable.

If a suit is out of your budget that is fair enough, you are only human after all. At least grab some Tom Ford man fashion accessories a pair of slick Tom Ford aviator sunglasses or leather wallet that is worth more than the cash inside. Then there is the most affordable option but probably the last place where want another man’s name written in large bold letters…some “I’m a classy guy underneath it all” Tom Ford underwear.
